Good morning,

The District 3 President continues to communicate with the Southeast Region and all Virginia District Administrators. We have received updated 2020 Rules and Regulations, if the spring season resumes. Notice was also given, that there won’t be any state tournaments (as of last email we had only been informed of no regional or World Series tournament play). Other than that, there are no further updates at this time as we all anticipate the state and local restrictions concerning COVID-19 and CDC guidelines. Governor Northam has provided a blueprint of the stages, but until data is known, we don’t know exactly when phases will occur.  

I wanted to touch base to let you know things are happening behind-the-scenes, but like everything these days it is hard to plan with so many unknowns. As much as we want to get back to a somewhat ‘normal’ life, it is going to take time. For example, if social distancing is still in place, how do we do that with a batter, catcher and umpire (modified rules allow for umpire to stand behind pitcher) or within a dugout.

Once again, thank you for your patience and understanding. If and when we would get a green light, we would rely on a quick response from each family, coaches, etc., so we can figure out next steps.
